The Breastfeeding Class is approximately two hours, broken into two parts, of learning about breastfeeding with me, Jess Willis, IBCLC. You’re welcome to watch this with your partner or doula as well.
I have been working with breastfeeding families for nearly ten years, first as a La Leche League Leader, then as a Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Let my knowledge and experience help you meet your breastfeeding goals.
I recommend taking your breastfeeding class in the third trimester of pregnancy, so you can remember everything, but you can also return to watch parts of this class at a later time as needed.
You will receive an email with instructions for accessing the class and scheduling your Virtual Q&A session within 24 hours of payment. Please email me if you have any questions!
Infant & Parent Sleep Class
Learn how to sleep like a baby – and how to meet your baby’s needs while meeting your own – with empathy and compassion, and the latest research.
There’s a reason why the infant sleep market is booming: parents are exhausted.
And when you’re exhausted, you will buy anything to get your baby to sleep, so you can sleep.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret that all of those companies don’t want you to know. You don’t need any special gadgets.
You don’t need sound machines and special sheets (although sometimes those can be helpful, too!)
You don’t need baby straight jackets.
You don’t need sleep trainers and infant sleep programs.
Here’s what you need for you and your baby to get the best postpartum rest, while maintaining a secure and healthy attachment, maintaining your milk supply, and truly keeping your baby happy and safe:
Thousands upon thousands of years of parents raising children are NOT wrong.
Join me as we delve into the science and history of maternal and infant sleep, the research, the products, and the real life experiences of families just like yours.
- Normal newborn behavior and the biology behind it
- Normal adult and child sleep behaviors
- The history of infant sleep
- Current safe sleep recommendations
- Global infant and parent sleep trends
- Maternal mental health and sleep
- Possible long-term effects of infant sleep in childhood
- Cosleeping, bedsharing, roomsharing defined and explored
- As well as lots of live learning (using real furniture, pillows, dolls, etc) to demonstrate what’s safe when it comes to infant sleep, and what’s not.
This custom-designed class features beautiful images of local families, generously shared for educational purposes, along with videos and hands-on learning with props, dolls, and other learning materials. Class is two hours of learning about safe infant sleep with me, Jess Willis, IBCLC. Please bring along a partner, spouse, mom, doula, or support person at no extra charge.
As a La Leche League Leader, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and mother of three, I understand how crucial sleep is to our hearts and minds as parents raising young humans.
Space is extremely limited for these classes so please reserve your seats in advance. This class is primarily geared toward the first year of your child’s life and can be taken in pregnancy or at any point during that time.
